“Amsterdam, what is not to love. The atmosphere is nowhere as relaxed as in the capital of Holland. Everybody is biking around. People are always out to coffee, lunch or dinner outside. Vondelpark and Westerpark for the sunny days. And everybody is young and fashionable. The city is packed with conceptstores, trendy supermarkets, such as Stach and Marqt, and burgerplaces. The best areas are the 9 straatjes, Jordaan and De Pijp. My all time favourite city!” Yours Truly
Lotti’s is the restaurant of The Hoxton hotel. The atmosphere is really cosy and the interior is amazing. I love to go here to order a coffee, plug in my laptop and work till lunchtime.
Dinner at San George, a downtown Italian located close by Leidsesquare. Most of Amsterdammers know the area very well for its nightlife and passed the restaurant while riding around. What they might have missed is a chic Italian bistro.
libertine cafe cafe
I felt in love with the poppy flowers on the tables. The open kitchen (island) looks amazing with the huge oven and people in denim walking around it. The crew is friendly, service minded which you don’t see often in Amsterdam, and has a great sense of humor.
At the corner between Albert Cuypmarkt and Sarphati Park, you can now find Bar Fisk. As suggested by the name (the Scandinavian word for fish), the main ingredients come straight from the ocean. But Bar Fisk is much more than what you would expect.
They went from healthy cafeteria to casual dining concept. Pure and organic ingredients, moderate in fat, free of refined sugars and, where possible, gluten and carbohydrates free, vegetarian or vegan.
What should I order?
The Hummus Superbowl with whole wheat pita and chicken.
The Hoxton hotel is a great location to get inspired. I love the vibe of working freelancers in the lobby and the rooms are beautifully designed.
