Our day started with a coffee and breakfast at La Ménagère, a flowerstore and bar in one which sells the most delicious croissants (with cream!) ever.
Admire the pretty flowers and tableware in the store before heading down to the Duomo.
Walk around the city, do some shopping at Via dei Calzaiuoli and soak up all the Florentine history at the Uffizi Gallery. Like a true Italian, make sure you get a sandwich at All’antico Vinaio. There might be a huge ass queue but believe me, it’s totally worth it. Eat it at the stairs of the Uffizi Gallery or at the river Arno.
Cross the Ponte Vecchio into San Niccolò. Your ‘after lunch’ espresso will be served at Ditta Artigianale. After wandering around the area it’s time for Aperitivo! First stop is Da’ Vinattieri where you get a plastic cup with red win for 2 euro and a coccoli with truffle. What an experience! I love these kind of unexpected places where you feel like a local.
Second stop is at Serre Torrigiani in Piazzetta. An urban terrace in between the two busy shopping streets of Florence. Get an Aperol Spritz here, my favorite Summer drink. Not done yet? Ditta Artigianale has a second location where you sip cocktails in the window while watching people.
